Turmoils of Life

There are times when we wonder,
The challenges of our beliefs,
The changes in our duties,
The times of our despair.

What we work for has crumbled,
Our hope nothing but dreams,
And our dreams, all futile,
And despair overcomes,
Washes us with grief and sorrow.

Harsh are the times we face,
A world that has changed,
No longer a world of peace,
But a restlessness that overwhelms.

Sometimes we ask of our self,
Why do we seek to overcome,
The challenges that we face,
The duties to be done,
The burden to be relieved.

Why do we take on challenges,
And face them when others would not,
Why we stand and fight,
And others flee from sight,
Remember what happened at Alamo.

Take comfort then,
in the Words of the Living God,
Understand that he that is within is greater,
And that we yearn to hear him say,

"Well done, my good and faithful servant,
you have done well. Come and rest in me.
Know that I am God, and the challenges you face on Earth,
Sowed what you will reap in Heaven above. "
